The Repair Process
At Florida Medical Clinic, we offer on-site hearing aid cleaning, maintenance and repairs for all makes and models, regardless of where they were purchased. Occasionally, a repair may require that the hearing aids are sent back to their manufacturer for further service, and we typically have loaner hearing aids available at no charge while you wait for your instruments to return.
It’s important to note that more than 75% of all hearing aid repairs are due to moisture and earwax accumulating in the hearing aid and the vast majority of these repairs are completely preventable. It is extremely important to clean the entire hearing aid every time it is removed from your ear by wiping and brushing it.
To better protect your investment, place your hearing aids in a desiccant kit every night. Electronic drying units, such as the Dry & Store Global, are the best. They include a germicidal light that kills most bacteria and other germs. They also have desiccants to absorb moisture and fans to circulate air around the internal components of the hearing aid. Preventive maintenance is the key to trouble free, long life from a hearing aid.
